Plan F or Plan G – Which is Better?

Medicare Supplement Plan G – Is it Better?

Do you currently have a Medicare supplement Plan F? You may want to consider changing to a Medicare supplement Plan G the next time you are price shopping your coverage. There is only one difference between a Plan F and a Plan G. With a Plan G, you are responsible for a once per calendar year deductible. This is called the Part B deductible. This amount changes from year to year. In 2022, this Part B deductible is $233.

How can you Save money??

It is important to compare the difference in premium between a Plan F and a Plan G. You may notice that the monthly premium for a Plan G is sometime $20 to $30 per month o more less than a Plan F. You then want to look at the total annual premium savings on a Plan G. This amount is often much more than $233. This is one of the reasons why it is a good idea to consider a Plan G, you will save money in your first year.

Another important consideration is that we have seen over the past several years smaller price increases in Plan G. Due to a number of different factors, when our customers have a Plan F and get a rate increases, they tend to be larger increases.
